Fractional CO2 laser is a technology based on fractional photo-thermolysis theory and shows the unique advantages in a short time. Small beam array produced by fractional laser is applied to the skin, after that, they form multiple 3-D cylindrical structure of small thermal damage zone, called micro treatment area (microscopic treatment zones, MTZ). These microscopic columns of skin are removed and healing initiated by surrounding skin causing neo-collagenesis. Collagen remodelling is initiated by this laser thus working for treatment of acne scars, skin rejuvenation, skin resurfacing, stretch marks etc.
Uses of Fractional CO2 Laser.
The procedure:
Numbing cream is applied for 45 mins after skin cleansing. Laser beam is then delivered all over face which takes about 20-30mins.
What to expect post laser?
Mild redness and swelling is common for 1-2 days post laser. Scabs and crusts develop for 4 -5 days which fall off and new skin comes from within. Multiple sessions are needed for best results.
