What Is The Procedure Of LHR?

First the areas to be treated are marked. The area is then shaved to remove all hair. Ultrasonic gel is then applied over the area. The skin is then cooled with our Tundra cooling handpiece. Laser beam shots are then given either via stamping or in-motion technique.

The cooling gel is wiped off and sunscreen is applied.

How long does it take for one session?

Time depends on the area to be treated and by the density of hair growth. Small areas like underarms, upper lip takes only 10-15 minutes whereas back, legs, arms can take up to an hour.

What can I expect post laser session?

LHR gives you a lighter, thinner hair with a very  slow growth. A 10-15% reduction in hair can be seen after first treatment. A clearance of 85-90% of hair can be achieved with laser.

What are the Do’s and Don’t s of Laser?

• No shaving, no waxing, no threading and no bleaching is to be done in between laser sessions.
• Avoid direct sunlight for 2-3 days.
• Use a good moisturiser and sunscreen.
• Follow post LHR instructions given by your dermatologist.

How many sessions are needed?

Majority of people will require 6-8 sessions for LHR depending on skin and hair colour and type.

These 6-8 sessions take about 1 year for completion.

Later on, an annual or bi-yearly maintenance session may be needed to maintain the results achieved.

Why do we need multiple sessions of LHR?

Multiple sessions are needed as laser beam can target melanin only in the growth phase of hair.

Hence to maximise results multiple sessions are needed.

Is it costly?

LHR in today’s time has become very cost-effective and can be done at nominal rates at our clinic.
